Building a cohesive esports ecosystem, Garena Free Fire’s 2022 roadmap will include two pro seasons, where each will comprise two major tournaments – a Free Fire Pro League (FFPL), followed by Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) finals. Each pro season will have a prize pool of INR 1.35 Cr. Here’s the Garena Free Fire esports events list for the year 2022:

1. Free Fire India Championship 2022 Spring

2. Free Fire Pro League 2022 Summer

3. Free Fire India Championship 2022 Fall

4. Free Fire Pro League 2022 Winter

Free Fire India Championship

Garena Free Fire has announced that every FFIC tournament will act as national qualifiers for its international tournaments. The top teams here will win a chance to compete for a pool of INR 1 Cr and represent the nation among international pro-players. There are two ways to qualify for this esport competition:

1. Achieve top six in the previous season’s Free Fire Pro League tournament

2. Advance to and achieve top 12 in the closed qualifiers stage of the FFIC

All interested participants can participate in the open qualifiers through the in-game Free Fire Cup mode. The top six teams in this mode will be moved to closed qualifiers, where they will meet the 7th to 12th placed teams in the Free Fire Pro League. These teams will compete for the remaining 12 slots in the FFIC league stage.

The 18 teams in Garena Free Fire’s FFIC league will then compete in a series of matches over the course of the league. The top six teams will directly qualify for the grand finals, and others will compete in the play-ins for the six remaining slots.

Garena Free Fire Pro League

Each pro league season will consist of 18 teams, comprising 12 finalists from the previous season of FFIC and top six teams from open qualifiers. The prize pool for each season has been kept at INR 35 Lakh. The top six teams here will get the chance to directly book their spot for next season’s FFIC tournament. The 7th to 12th placed teams will skip the open qualifiers and move to the closed qualifier round. Garena Free Fire has chosen this format for its esport event to bring in continuity as well as to reward the top teams with bigger titles to chase.

This season opens with the Free Fire India Championship 2022 spring and the open qualifiers are expected to take place soon.
